ANNOUNCEMENTS
In
our prayers: Lillian Doherty (facing a health set-back), and
Tillie Eilers (for progress and strength while in rehab).
Friedens Choir will hold a special one-time rehearsal on Tuesday, July
7th at 7:00 pm. We have been asked to sing an anthem during the
church service on July 12th. Charles Bonow will be the guest organist
that day and he has made this request. We will sing a song we
already know and will also sing some of the verses of the hymns Mr.
Bonow has selected for that service. If you can't make the
rehearsal but can join us on Sunday the 12th, please come to church at
8:30 am for practice. Any questions please call Donna James
952-758-4859.
One week from today, July 12th at 9:00 am, organist Charles Bonow will
be presenting his new worship service concert, “Our Life In Christ”
during our regular worship service.
The books from the NPH spring book sale are here. Please make your
check payable to Friedens and leave it in the envelope provided.. The
books are in the entrance hall at the back of church.
Come and help Don and Ann Meyer celebrate their 50th wedding
anniversary at an open house Sunday, July 12th, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
in our Fellowship Hall. No
gifts please.
Pastor Koch will be hosting a 10-day Biblical tour of Israel early next
year. The travel dates are January 11-20, 2010. While the
highlight will be stepping where Jesus walked (e.g., Cana, the Sea of
Galilee [we’ll have to use a boat], Gethsemane/Jerusalem, Bethlehem),
the group will also visit places familiar in Bible history like Mt.
Carmel (Elijah) and Jericho. There is an optional three-day extension
to the Red Sea/Sinai and Cairo, Egypt. Brochures just arrived and
are on the back table and outside Pastor’s office. Two meals a
day, rooms, airfare, taxes & tips are included. More
info will follow.
A “fired up faith…but what do they believe? As part of the charismatic
movement, the Assemblies of God is one of the fastest growing church
bodies in the world. The second volume in the series "A Lutheran Looks
At;" provides a confessional Lutheran perspective on the teachings of
the Assemblies of God and paints a clear picture of its history,
beliefs and practices. A Lutheran Looks at the Assemblies of God, by
Michael T. Feuerstahler. See the bulletin insert for ordering
information.
If
you need to make
reservations to use the Fellowship hall, or need to
borrow tables and chairs (not the new ones) for receptions or parties
please remember you must talk to Bob Heine (952-994-0427) to make
arrangements and you also need to make note of what you will be
borrowing on the events calendar which is on the long table at the
front of the fellowship hall.
